Knowledge Base Search Rules

Note that in the following information, all terms being treated as a search are written in bold/italics, and any symbol shown in the search terms is meant to be included unless otherwise noted.

Simple Search

If you search for anything, the knoowledgebase will search each word as a term individually, but each result will contain both words. For example, the search terms valid word will yield results containing both the word valid and the word, but they do not have to be next to each other.

All Inclusive Search

If you search for anything in quotes, the knowledgebase will match terms on the identical phrase; for example “validation rules” will yield only results with the words valid and font in that order. This can be combined with other terms to yield more relevant results. For example, “validation rules” command will search for results with both the term validation rules and the term command.

Exclusive Search

You can exclude any word from your search by including a minus sign (-) before the word. If you want to search for ‘valid’ but exclude any results containing ‘word,’ search for valid -word. This must be done individually for every word that should be excluded, such as in valid -word -transaction. Please note that it searches for the exclude string within words, so if you search valid -word, your results will also exclude words. You cannot override this by including the version with more characters.

Symbols

You can explicitly search for any symbol (@, $, %, etc.) except minus (–)
